Understand packing and quality
Bananas are exported standard in 22–26 kg cartons, harvested green and transported with controlled ripening. Pineapples, mangos and plantains follow their own commercial standards:

- Packing — cartons to commercial standard or buyer specification.
- Cold chain — continuous for bananas and sensitive fruit.
Define certification and origin
You can source conventional fruit or request certified programmes — GLOBALG.A.P., Rainforest Alliance or organic. For importers in the United States, Canada and Europe, these credentials are increasingly a requirement for retail programmes and audits.
